New Year New You 2017

This announcement I have to share is insane. ๐Ÿ’ก
I'M SO EXCITED!!! Stay with me...
I was never a "home workout" ๐Ÿก person.
I went to bootcamps for HOURS, Zumba and Step Aerobic classes. I absolutely LOVED a season of my life were I truly enjoyed the release from working all my stress out.
{but I was younger and that was before more responsibility set in.... LOL!}
So I went from THAT - to - NADA.

Because... It wasn't as fun. No one was meeting me anywhere. And I could easily slip under the radar. Don't get me wrong - spending whatever time I could at home relaxing - was the BEST... But my booty didn't like it ๐Ÿ‘ .... ๐Ÿ˜‚

I get it. You like the gym. It's fun. It's official. The equipment is there. But why not cross train? Why not have an OPTION to do -most likely- a BETTER workout - at home? For me, it was the answer to my big 'ol fitness dilemma. And I know it will continue to be for..... forever. Cheaper. Faster. Efficient. Effective.
... and I have a fitness community through my challenge groups to give me that accountability & make it fun.

Minty Watermelon Shakeology

Watermelon is a summertime staple, whether you’re eating it by the slice, grilling it on a barbecue, or having a seed spitting contest with friends. Adding it to your Shakeology with ice and fresh mint leaves makes it even more refreshing on a hot day.

Total Time: 5 min.
Prep Time: 5 min.
Cooking Time: None
Yield: 1 serving
1 cup cubed watermelon
½ cup water
1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
6 fresh mint leaves, chopped
1 cup ice
1. Place watermelon, water, Shakeology, mint, and ice in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.

Don't Dim Your Light

She was always apologizing for being in the way, for speaking too loud, and for not being enough.
I wonder if she was aware that she was apologizing away her existence.
She apologized for the hair that was out of place and the way her arms moved in her sleeveless top.
She apologized for being too forward and five minutes later for not being brave enough.
With every single apology she reduced herself to the size of a pebble no bigger than my pinky nail, sitting quietly along the path as an adornment but not to disturb anyone too much, and definitely not ever going anywhere herself.
I like to think that girl is gone but every once in a while she pops her head out.
When she appears I remind her to love herself graciously and to stop apologizing for the life she’s been given.
I give her permission to be loud and awkward.
I let her cry, and get in people’s way.
And I tell her not to apologize for being herself, even if someone else wants her to.
Most importantly I assure her that it is never ever her fault if someone else can’t handle the weight of who she is and to remember her hair is out of place because that’s how the wind likes it as she dances in the woods.

Ever need to give yourself a Pep Talk

Ever have to give YOURSELF a PEP TALK? 
I do all the time. The people I look up do all the time. We're humans and were in this together. We are our one and only rival. 
I put up a hell of a fight, but there are moments where I get swept up in emotion. There's so much room at the top, room for your voice, your perspective, your story + your triumph. Fix your eyes on the road ahead of you and there will be no stopping you.

That's the POWER of personal development. In the last few decades so many regarded "self-help" for broken. Nope, it's for the wise! It's so you can guard your heart and your mind to do GREAT THINGS.

It's in there, stirring. That's why you feel like there's gotta be more... You were made for more. God uses ordinary and makes the extraordinary. We just have to show up.
